A painted kitchen with a curved banquette island, made by Forest & Stone

Services

Fitted furniture,
made for one room.

Kitchens, wardrobes, media walls and cabinetry, designed, made and fitted by one team.

What We Make

No standard sizes. No off-the-shelf carcasses. Every piece is drawn for the room it stands in, made in our Tharston workshop and fitted by the people who built it.

01Handmade Kitchens

The room the house runs on.

Painted kitchen with a curved banquette island and round oak table

Painted in-frame cabinetry, wood or stone worktops, islands with seating built in. We lay a kitchen out around how you actually cook, then work out the storage drawer by drawer, so everything has a place before the first panel is cut.

Including

  • Islands and banquette seating
  • Larders, dressers and pantry cupboards
  • Range and extractor surrounds
  • Painted, timber and stone finishes
See Holt House

02Media Walls

Everything the screen needs, nothing on show.

Dark fluted media unit with an inset fire below a TV on slatted wall panelling
Painted bookcase and media wall framing a television

Fluted, panelled or painted, built around your television, speakers and fire. Cable routes, ventilation and access are planned before we start, so the finished wall looks like furniture rather than a wall of equipment.

Including

  • Inset fires and speaker housings
  • Lit display shelving
  • Concealed cable management
  • Floating or floor-standing units
See the Poringland media wall

03Wardrobes & Dressing Rooms

The inside matters as much as the doors.

Dressing room lined with lit shelving, hanging rails and drawers with brass cup handles
Pale painted wardrobes built into the eaves beneath a roof light

We start with what you own: how much hangs long, how much folds, how many pairs of shoes. Then we build the interior to suit, with rails at the right heights, drawers where you reach for them and lighting that comes on as the doors open.

Including

  • Hanging at long and double heights
  • Shoe and handbag shelving
  • Drawers, trouser racks and accessory trays
  • Integrated LED lighting
See Holt House

04Alcove Units & Bookcases

Proportioned to the wall, not a catalogue.

Sage-green fitted library shelving with an oak library ladder
Painted bookcase with lit shelves and tongue-and-groove backs

Either side of a chimney breast or across a whole wall, made to the exact width, height and skirting line of the room. Cornices, lit shelves and library ladders where they suit, with cupboards below to keep the clutter out of sight.

Including

  • Fireplace alcoves
  • Full-wall bookcases
  • Library ladders and rails
  • Lit shelving and cupboards below
See the Tibenham library

05Bespoke Storage

Every awkward space, put to work.

Under-stairs drawers pulled open, showing oak-lined interiors
Painted panelled storage built in beneath a period staircase

Under the stairs, into the eaves, along a hallway or through a boot room. Spaces that standard furniture can’t reach are where made-to-measure earns its keep, with pull-outs, cupboards and benches cut to the angles you actually have.

Including

  • Under-stairs drawers and cupboards
  • Boot rooms and utility rooms
  • Hallway benches and coat storage
  • Eaves and loft storage
See New Market Road

06Wine Rooms

From a single cabinet to a walk-in cellar.

Bespoke wine room with floor-to-ceiling timber racking

Racking sized to your collection, with space for cases, magnums and the bottles you want on show. Timber, lighting and layout are planned together so the room is as good to stand in as it is to store in.

Including

  • Wine walls and walk-in rooms
  • Display and case storage
  • Integrated lighting
  • Tasting counters and cabinets

07Display Cabinetry

Built for the things worth looking at.

Cathedral shop under a vaulted ceiling, lined with painted cabinetry and lit shelving
An open shop cabinet showing its oak-lined interior

Lit shelving, glass-fronted cabinets and display bays, for homes and for shops. We designed and built the fit-out of a cathedral gift shop, and bring the same care to a single cabinet for a collection at home.

Including

  • Lit display bays
  • Glass-fronted cabinets
  • Retail and shop fit-out
  • Concealed lighting and storage below
See the Norwich Cathedral Shop

08Vanity Units

Bathroom furniture, made like kitchen furniture.

Navy painted double vanity with a white stone top and twin basins
Floating oak waterfall vanity with two countertop basins, brushed brass taps and an open shelf below

Painted or timber vanities with stone tops, built to fit around the pipework rather than forcing the plumbing to fit the furniture. Drawers that keep the everyday close, and finishes chosen to cope with a steamy room.

Including

  • Painted, fitted and oak waterfall vanities
  • Stone countertops
  • Drawers built around plumbing
  • Matching mirrors and cabinets

Questions

Before you get in touch.

Where do you work?

Across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, from our workshop in Tharston, South Norfolk. If you’re just outside that area, ask anyway.

What does the design stage cost?

The first visit to see your space is free. Detailed designs carry a fee of £300, which comes off the price in full if you go ahead.

How long does a project take?

It depends on the size of the job and how busy the workshop is. We’ll give you an expected lead time with your quotation and keep you updated while your pieces are made.

How do payments work?

A 10% deposit when you order, 40% when you sign off the final drawings, 40% before we fit, and the last 10% when the work is complete. Full details are in our terms.

Do you handle stone worktops, electrics and plumbing?

We can. Where a specialist works on part of your project, such as stone worktops or electrical work, we’ll say so in your quotation, so you always know who is doing what.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes. Everything we make is guaranteed for three years from completion against faults in materials and workmanship, on top of your legal rights.
